The mission of Alzheimer's Speaks has always been "to shift dementia care from crisis to comfort around the world, by giving voice to all." They believe this is the only way to truly understand how care is perceived, received, and delivered. By learning through inclusion, we gather key ingredients to guide us to build better and develop new sustainable systems of support.
Alzheimer’s Speaks believes leading by example is the best way to shift public perception. Dementia is not a disease of one, but that of families. They believe it is essential to value quality of life for all and to teach people how to live graciously alongside Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. This is how they continue to support families, friends, and professionals as they adjust to dealing with the new normal of living alongside dementia. Check out all of the free resources they offer!

Aletha Vassilakis: How to have The Talk with your adult kids
Let's get smart on The Talk--the one we all need to have with our adult kids--and maybe our parents--about how we want things to roll if/when we can't make decisions.
Getting us smart on how to hack the discussion is Aletha Vassilakis, an attorney who specializes in contract law. Vassilakis has also spent a lot of time serving as a mediator for couples and families.
We talk about how to start the conversation, the difference between a will and a trust and why she should keep my favorite spoon.
